Clara is a self-taught illustrator and concept artist who discovered her passion for visual storytelling after watching <the red shoes>, a 1948 British drama by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. inspired by its artistry, she embarked on her journey into concept illustration at the age of 23.
her philosophy emphasizes the significance of negative space created by characters. she believes that all negative space exists within context, and it is the responsibility of the art department, including herself, to craft this context, allowing characters and narratives to coexist harmoniously.
recently, she has illustrated for Universal Studios Hollywood and Walt Disney Imagineering. she was also selected to participate in the Production Design Initiative organized by the Art Directors Guild (IATSE Local 800), a program designed to provide mentorship and on-the-job training to future production designers and art directors.
